shadow of a doubt: The James Beathard story
25 years after the irreversible execution, a group of filmmakers hope to capture the story of James Lee Beathard in the form of a documentary.
The film has aims to [increase public pressure on state lawmakers to change rules on post-trial evidence, as well as encourage the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles to consider the case for posthumous pardon.]
To accomplish this goal, we hope to fundraise [$X] through a mix of grants and donations to produce a documentary that tells James’ story to the world for the first time.
“Texas likes to argue ‘YOU CANT POINT TO A SINGLE EXAMPLE WHERE WE’VE EVER EXECUTED ANYONE INNOCENT.’ Well, if your documentary gets made, i think we’re about to.”
